LA's Staples Center was home to KIIS FM's 2014 Jingle Ball powered by Line on Friday, Dec. 5. The annual holiday concert was the biggest one to date with a start studded lineup. Taylor Swift kicked off the show in a black sparkling crop top and matching swing skirt. "I have laryngitis and will need your help singing tonight ... let me hear you scream," she told the crowd as she began her set with "Blank Space." She pushed through her sickness to a roaring crowd who had no trouble single along to hits like "I Knew You Were Trouble “and "Love Story." "I would like you to know that this had been my favorite year of my entire life and I turn 25 next year and it was a nice early birthday present," Swift explained, showing gratitude for her Grammy nods as she closed her set with "Shake It Off."
LA Native, Becky G, took to the stage next in a red crop top and plaid shirt tied at her waist performing her hit "Shower" followed by Kiesza in a shiny red bralette. The "Hideaway" singer broke out some dance moves taking us back to the early 90's as she closed with her new single, "Over Myself." After that, Pharrell appeared with dancers in red Adidas jumpsuits. He started with "Drop It Like It's Hot" before introducing surprise guest, Gwen Stefani who wore a black sparkle jumpsuit, to perform their current single together "Spark the Fire." The 3-time grammy nominee continued with "Get Lucky" and invited his young fans to the stage for his finale "Happy."
Nick Jonas looked sleek in all black opening his set with "Chains." He then invited his longtime friend Demi Lavato, to the stage, who was also wearing black leather. She joined him for "Avalanche" and closed with a new rendition of his current single from his solo album, "Jealous." Charli XCX performed her hit "Boom Clap" and new single "Break The Rules," followed by Rixton who worked through technical difficulties closing their set with their single "Me and My Broken Heart." YouTube sensation Shawn Mendes took the stage followed by Rita Ora and a surprise performance by Ed Sheeran. He explained he was just added to the line-up earlier in the day, but was pleased to be there to share his new song "Thinking Out Loud."
"All About That Bass" singer Meghan Trainor also performed her new single "Lips Are Moving" before making way for Australian hip-hop sensation, Iggy Azalea. The tall blonde showed off her curves in a white fishnet crop top over a grey sports bra and hip hugging black pants. Rita Ora was invited back to the stage for their hit "Black Widow" followed by "Beg For It," "Work" and her smash single "Fancy." Ariana Grande was channeling her inner sexy Santa's helper in a red sequin bra top and matching high waisted shorts with white pumps. She started with a Christmas song and was joined by boyfriend, Big Sean, for their hit "Right There." There was no lack of PDA as the duo showed affection for one another and closed their song with a kiss.
Big Sean then went backstage to watch her perform her current singles "Break Free" and "Love Me Harder" with The Weeknd. Grande and Jessie J joined forces for their summer hit "Bang Bang" and Ariana showcased her rapping skills singing along to the Nicki Minaj verse of the sing. Sam Smith was pleased to announce his six Grammy nods as he performed "Latch" and "Stay With Me." Australian boy band, 5 Seconds of Summer closed out the show to a screaming frenzy of young girls who waited four hours for the boys to take the stage. The festive concert was an amazing way to kick off the holidays.
